Currently, the NeTS group has a number of available positions at different levels:


Open Positions: Ph.D. students

NeTS is looking for students coming from renowned universities from around the world, with a very good grade record, who have an interest in mobile communications and/or the startegic aspects of information technology and networking (telecom policy & economics).
We seek students with a strong background on communications networks or/and on engineering management, coming from electrical engineering, computer science or related fields. Paramount is a desire to learn and push the limits of current technology, as well as providing new insight into today's and tomorrow's networks and services. We also look for individuals with initiative and willing to take up responsibility in research as well as teaching.
We offer the possibility of full-time employment in our group, subject to obtaining one of our University grants, as well as participation in the national and international research projects currently under development.
Writing a Ph.D. thesis aims at advancing knowledge in a specialized area of science. If that is your goal, join us!

Open Position: Associate Professor (Post-Doc/Tenure track)

NeTS is also looking for a senior networking specialist in the fields of mobile communications, telecommunication policy or telecom economics. Several years of graduate work in the field are expected, as well as a solid record of participation in research projects at the national and international level in these fields. Proof of research excellence in the form of publications is assumed.
The candidate must also have a strong commitment to teaching, that goes beyond simple lecturing. UPF is striving to establish itself at forefront of student-centered education, with an emphasis on project-based learning methodology.
NeTS offers a position at the senior level, with the possibility to pursue tenure track if desired, subject to prior accreditation by the spanish organization for education quality. Multi-year post-doc positions can also be arranged, as well as shorter-term stays for visiting professors.
We offer the possibility to participate in shaping the group's future, by helping design new international projects and define future areas of research, as well as participating in open and frank debate and collaboration in the areas of mobile communications and telecom policies and economics. We have several ongoing research projects at the national and international level, and a desire to establish ourselves as a reference in multidisciplinar Internet research.
